Polishers 5x Better

July 2010 – Poedercoating Wolvega is participating in the project ‘5x Better, Working is Healthy’. This is a joint project of the employer organisations and trade unions in the metal industry to improve working conditions in the branch. During a workshop, the members of the polishing team were brought right up to date about the correct use of personal protective equipment.

After completing a check for improvements hosted on the site of ‘5x Better, Working is Healthy’, Poedercoating Wolvega came to the conclusion that even more improvements were possible in the use of hearing protection, protective goggles and dust masks by the polishing team. ‘5x Better, Working is Healthy’ was then asked to arrange a workshop. The members of the polishing team learnt how to wear their personal protective equipment in the correct way and how to encourage their colleagues to do the same. The participation in this industry initiative has improved the correct use of personal protective equipment by the polishing team. To emphasise how important this issue is, Poedercoating Wolvega treated the polishing team to a good slice of cake.
